„A leap to the future“, a six-country project within the Erasmus project, initiated by a Hungarian school in Budapest just kicked off in their exciting city.
The project aims for an exchange of good practices and further development all around the big field of digital media in a school environment.
Besides getting to know all the participating countries (Greece, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Germany and Hungary) the meeting was used to prepare and plan the first steps including activities and meetings with student participation.
The Hungarian hosts made sure to include a well -thought-out cultural program in and around Budapest: from historical places like Buda Castle to a newly opened museum about living within the sovjet union, everything was covered.
A short online workshop marked the start for the participating students from all countries.
With a quick demonstration and introduction of Stop-Motion video making and a small homework in preparation for the second meeting in Italy, all students were excited to kick off the project proper in Italy.
From September 25 to 30, 35 participants, including three students and two teachers
from WBRS, convened in Turin for the inaugural project. Centered on Turin's 2030 sociopolitical
goals, such as strengthening democratic institutions and combating poverty,
the participants, through green screen films, creatively depicted these goals inspired by
citywide facade paintings. This experience was especially valuable for us from Willy-
Brandt-Realschule as we are establishing a media room for students to enhance their
digital skills.
The project also emphasized intercultural exchange. Our students swiftly befriended
peers from other nations, enhancing their English skills and gaining insights into diverse
cultures through visits to landmarks and museums in Turin. Culinary experiences
expanded their horizons, revealing that Italy offers more than just pizza and pasta. The
farewell dinner on September 30 underscored the formation of lasting friendships in
Europe.

From 17th to the 21st of October 2022 our second transnational meeting took place in Germany in Königsbach-Stein.
As the teachers already knew each other, it was a very good meeting in friendship.
After the first succesful activity with students in Turin this meeting was about to plan the next steps for our project. There also was a meeting with the German students, who take part in the Erasmus program. They showed the Erasmus teachers the school. Then the explanation of the German school system was topic, too.
To get more infomation about our project aim „Teaching and learning with digital media“ we went on a study visit of the ZKM (Center for art and media) in Karlsruhe.
The meeting also had a strong character of intercultural exchange. The city of Heidelberg, a world-known city with historical buildings was the cultural highlight of the visit.
The farewell dinner was joyful and erybody was delighted how the project went on.
Here you can find some photos of our meeting.
Enjoy!
Early March, it is cold and everything is covered in white: a perfect time to travel through the beautilful countryside of Finland towards the next meeting location: Kalajoki, a town in Finland.
Thistopic of this meeting was another interesting and exciting art style: Light Painting.
Armed with cameras and lights of all sorts, students of the six participating countries met to plan and „paint“ their artwork in mixed groups. Overcoming all difficulties that come with painting with light in almost pitch-black darkness the students produced some astonishing artwork all whilst getting to know each other and practicing their English skills.
Of course a varied and interesting cultural program accompanied the project work.
Happy (and exhausted) after five amazing days, the international groups of students and teachers made their way back home to their home countries with a lot of experiences, stories and ideas in their bags.

Following a warm welcome at "Alfonso do Albuquerque Secondary School," an
engaging program unfolded in Guarda and its surroundings. The students explored the
Portuguese school system by visiting different schools and experienced orchestra, band, and choir rehearsals at the local music school.
The main focus was the collaborative "Sound Design" project, where environmental sounds were recorded and edited into a short video sequence using the "Diplix" app.
Groups, each comprising a student from every nation, communicated exclusively in
English as they recorded sounds in Guarda throughout the week. Project work involved
conscious perception, smartphone recording, and collaborative video and sound editing. The resulting videos were presented during the certificate ceremony.
Sustainable interaction with nature was emphasized during an excursion to Sierra
Estrella, where the Geopark Center provided valuable information. The breathtaking view from Portugal's highest peak, "Torre," highlighted the country's natural beauty.
The week concluded with the presentation of Erasmus certificates, marking an extremely informative and enriching experience. Students not only learned about Portuguese culture but also gained valuable digital media skills and engaged in intercultural exchange.

What a journey it has been. Spanning almost two years the representatives of all six participating countries met for a final time in Thessaloniki,Greece.
Looking back on an amazing, interesting and mind-opening project for our students as well as our teachers the three days of the meeting flew by fast.
Planning the last steps of the project work and enjoying a rich cultural program around ancient and modern greek culture the participating teachers from Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Germany and Greece had to say goodbye to newfound friends and colleagues, who they shared so many interesting stories, days and evenings with.
A big thank you from all participating countries to the Hungarian project initiators and the Erasmus project as a whole, without whom we'd probably never met and wouldn't have been able to share the experiences with.
